Exceptionally located on a vast snow-capped high plateau, Bessans, a village surrounded by glaciers and peaks over 3000 meters, has become, in France and internationally, one of the essential references for cross-country skiing and biathlon. In winter, Bessans is another world where another language is spoken, where the key words are mountaineering, racing, refuges, ice climbing, snowshoeing, ski touring... A fascinating world, but so well connected, since it's only 40 minutes from the freeway and even less, by free shuttle, from the Alpine resorts that surround it.
Bessans is a natural reserve of authenticity, naturalness, oxygen and energy: the hamlets, the pastoral life, the baroque heritage, the sports teams in preparation, the simplicity of the locals. It's all part and parcel of active or contemplative holidays, which bring out the best in body and soul, strengthen ties with nature, transmit lasting values and energize!
