Description
Adventure film, fantasy, musical comedy for all audiences The continuing adventures of Elphaba and Glinda, two legendary witches from the land of Oz, bound together and torn apart by fate, each pursuing their own quest for truth and justice.
Labeled as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba now lives in exile, hidden in the forest. She continues her fight for the freedom of muzzled animals, while seeking to reveal the true nature of the Wizard of Oz.
Glinda, on the other hand, has become the epitome of glamour and virtue. Settled in the Emerald Palace, she enjoys the privileges of her celebrity and works, under the influence of Madame Morrible, to reinforce the image of the Wizard's reign among the people.
As she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero in a sumptuous "grandiOz" wedding, Glinda cannot forget Elphaba. Wracked with remorse, she attempts a reconciliation, which fails and makes things even worse for her former friend. The consequences for Fiyero, Boq and Elphaba's sister Nessarose are far-reaching, especially when a mysterious young girl from Kansas enters the picture.
Faced with a popular revolt against Elphaba, the two witches must put aside their differences. Their complex but sincere friendship becomes the key to their shared future. If they are to rewrite their own history - and that of Oz - they must learn to understand each other with clarity, respect and kindness.
